Pocket Sized Pep Talks

The Agony Of Default

Episode Summary

There are many default features designed to help make our lives easier when using our devices. We have default features on our computers, and on our phones, but there are risks. We’ve all sent text messages where a word has automatically been changed to something very different. However, the real risk falls into the many other defaults that have quietly crept into how we communicate with others. We'll go over a few critical ones!

Episode Notes

Webster's dictionary defines the word default as: a selection made usually automatically or without active consideration.

In this Pocket Sized Pep Talk we'll look at something I refer to as, "Default Thinking" and go over six classic mistakes made by this form of thinking.  We run the risk of making mistakes that are totally avoidable... as long as we turn off the default mechanism and focus on making moves that are not automatic or without active consideration!
