Moving On – Surviving Workplace Abuse

Episode Summary

Like a marriage, sometimes it just doesn’t work out between companies and employees. In some instances, the players involved can be cruel. In this Pocket Sized Pep Talk, I'll discuss the challenges of this form abuse, and the scars it leaves, but I'll also talk about some positive gains from these difficult experiences.

• The reason behind this form of abuse.
• The different forms this abuse can take.
• The emotional side of abuse.

However, we'll also look at solutions including:

• Changing how you view the experience.
• Accepting some responsibility.
• Forgiving your tormentor.
• Forgiving yourself.

Remember, no one deserves this form of abuse, and it will leave scars.  But these scars can be beautiful because they serve as reminders:

"Never be ashamed of a scar. It simply means you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you."
